Classification And Application Of Pressure Transmitters
Pressure is everywhere in the human social environment, so pressure sensors naturally become the most commonly used sensors in industrial practice. They are widely used in various industrial automatic control environments, involving water conservancy and hydropower, railway transportation, intelligent buildings, production automatic control, aerospace, military industry, petrochemicals, oil wells, electricity, ships, machine tools, pipelines and many other industries.
Pressure Transmitter
Pressure transmitter is a sensor that converts pressure into electrical signal output.
Basic Composition
Pressure transmitter usually consists of a pressure sensitive element and a signal processing unit. The pressure sensitive element is the part that senses the pressure change, and the signal processing unit converts the sensed pressure change into an electrical signal output.
Classification
There are many types of pressure transmitters. The most widely used pressure sensors are:
- Diffused silicon piezoresistive pressure transmitter
The pressure of the measured medium acts directly on the diaphragm of the sensor (stainless steel), causing the diaphragm to produce a micro-displacement proportional to the medium pressure, causing the resistance value of the sensor to change, and the electronic circuit detects this change and converts and outputs a standard measurement signal corresponding to this pressure.
- Ceramic piezoresistive pressure transmitter
Ceramic is a material that is recognized as corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant. The thermal stability of ceramic and its thick film resistor can make its operating temperature range as high as -40 ~ 105 ℃, and it has high measurement accuracy and high stability. The electrical insulation level is 2kV, the output signal is strong, and the long-term stability is good.
- Sputtered thin film pressure transmitter
The sputtered thin film pressure sensor continues the principle of measuring pressure with a metal elastic diaphragm. The strain bridge is directly made on the metal pressure measuring film using ion beam sputtering and etching technology. Since there are no moving parts, it has strong resistance to vibration and impact and can be used in harsh environments.
- Capacitive pressure transmitter
Capacitive pressure sensor is a pressure sensor that uses a capacitive sensitive element to convert the measured pressure into an electrical output that is in a certain relationship with it. Its characteristics are low input force and dwarf energy, high dynamic response, small natural effect, and good environmental adaptability.
- High temperature resistant sapphire pressure transmitter
Using silicon-sapphire as the semiconductor sensitive element, it has unparalleled metrological characteristics. It can work normally under the worst working conditions, and has high reliability, good accuracy, extremely small temperature error and high cost performance.
But the most widely used is the piezoresistive pressure transmitter, which has extremely low price, high accuracy and good linearity.
